Resume types
There are three basic types of resumes. The candidate chooses the right one depending on his experience and skill set, as well as what job he is applying for.
- Chronological resume
A chronological resume highlights your work history, listing the most recent position first. The jobs are listed in reverse chronological order.
- Functional resume
A functional resume focuses on your skills and accomplishments rather than your work experience. If you choose this type of resume, remember to put the emphasis on the skills (What you did) not on experience (When or where you did it)
- Combination resume
A combination resume lists and highlights the relevant skills first, and then describes your work history in reverse chronological order.
